Joanne F. Sonin, PhD
Founder
Joanne is a corporate finance professional with over 20 years of experience working in global financial markets as an advisor, a principal, a senior corporate executive, and non-executive director. She has worked as an investment banker at a number of global firms and has been based in numerous jurisdictions, including London, New York, Sydney, and Tel Aviv, executing a wide range of strategic, M&A, and financial markets transactions. Joanne combines expertise in corporate finance, corporate sustainability & ESG, and company law to support clients of all types and sizes with actionable and value-creating strategies and solutions.

Joanne has a PhD in company law from the London School of Economics and Political Science, an MBA (Financial Management) from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a PhD in classics from the University of Cambridge, and a BA from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Joanne is the author of Shareholders and Stakeholders: The Unrealised Promise of Company Law Reform in Post-War Britain (2023). Oxford: Hart Publishing. Her research and thought leadership focus on shareholder / stakeholder interests, corporate purpose, corporate behaviour, corporate sustainability, and legal reform. In all aspects of her work, Joanne combines academic rigour with the pragmatic application and the hands-on experience of a practitioner.
